Services for Neurodivergent Adults
Neurodiversity-affirming services are grounded in the understanding that neurodivergence (e.g. Autism, dyslexia, ADHD) is a natural variation of human experience, not a disorder or deficit to be “fixed” or “cured”. Services provided at Blue Lotus Allied Health focus on validating and celebrating neurodivergent identities while addressing challenges in a way that respects individual needs, preferences and strengths.
In therapy, this means that:
🧠 Your experiences, feelings and identity will be honoured.
🏳️🌈 People of all cultural backgrounds, faiths, gender identities and sexual orientation are welcome and accepted.
😎There is no pressure to mask or conform to neurotypical expectations.
🤝Support is personalised and collaborative, tailored to your specific needs, strengths and preferences.
🎯Therapies are focused on helping you meet your goals, not improving your quality of life rather than enforcing rigid societal norms.
♾️ Your sensory needs are catered to in session – for example, you are welcome to use fidgets, stim, or bring your pet or support person into appointments.
💪You are supported to self-advocate for the supports you need to manage everyday life, including work, study, or receiving healthcare.
⛔️ Applied Behaviour Analysis (or ABA) is NEVER used. More about why ABA is harmful is here.
