Medicare
Medicare benefits are available to clients who access therapy through either Better Access to Mental Health (also known as a Mental Health Care Plan) or a Chronic Disease Management Plan. Sessions are charged at $230 for an initial appointment, and then $200 for subsequent 50-minute sessions.
To access this you will need to get a referral from your GP or psychiatrist and either email this prior to your first appointment or bring the referral to your first session.
For Better Access clients, a Medicare rebate of $85.20 per appointment is available for up to 10 sessions per year. For clients with a Chronic Disease Management Plan, a Medicare rebate of $60.35 is available for up to 5 sessions per year. You will need to pay upfront on the day service is provided, and Blue Lotus Allied Health will process your Medicare rebate for you.
